Non Governmental Organization "Romiosini"
AIMS AND WAYS OF ACHIEVING THEM
I. The Aim of the Organization is to develop, promote and support activities in local, district, ethnic and international level regarding:
a. The achievement of a deeper and wide-spread knowledge as well as the proclamation and support of the very long Jerusalemite-Hagiotaphite tradition in reference to monasticism, the monuments connected with it and the overall sacred Holy Land pilgrimages including the Dependencies world-wide.
b. The strengthening of the multi-facetted spiritual, cultural, historical and philanthropic mission of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The Foundation of Schools, Colleges and, in general, Education units for the proclamation and promotion of the Orthodox civilization, of the art of icon-painting and of the Byzantine music.
c. The research, registration, preservation, dissemination, projection and promotion of the world-wide spiritual and cultural Orthodox wealth, in the capacity of undertaking and accomplishing a variety of programs and initiatives within the national borders of Greece.
This includes the planning and co-ordination of any such worthy work in Greece or abroad for the strengthening and proclamation of the cultural wealth of the Jerusalemite-Hagiotaphite monasticism of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem including the provision of social, cultural and educational services for the public awareness on the above. As an extension of the scale of the non-profit making activities character of the Organization one could indicatively mention i.e.: programs for studying, researching and promoting the Jerusalemite-Hagiotaphite monasticism, programs for planning and accomplishing the charity work of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, programs for collaborating with other institutions, N.G.Os or associations for organizing seminars and courses for further education regarding the above, the publication and provision of printed material in books, magazines, prospectuses etc. via the well-run/equipped library of the Organization and, also, the N.G.O. website. The funds for all these will be provided by national, European or international sources following the appropriate research and investigation and in collaboration with other Organizations of similar aims.
II. Herewith follow indicatively some potential actions in order to achieve the above:
A. Regarding I (a) as above: After seeking the approval of his Beatitude the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos the III:
a. To provide scholarships for the study of the long through the centuries Jerusalemite tradition.
b. To undertake research programs for the support of the clerical mission of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
c. To organize free of charge activities for the promotion of the Jerusalemite tradition.
d. To publish and distribute free of charge printed material expanding on the Jerusalemite tradition and the continuous efforts for its preservation.
e. To engage in thorough study and research on the above.
f. To participate in ethnic, national, international and world-wide activities such as symposia, pilot-studies/research and other programs relevant to the aims of the Organization.
B. Regarding II (b) as above:
a. To provide free of charge advice on know-how programs for the initiation and support of cultural research, of study and museum centers on several towns in order to serve and accomplish the aims of the Orthodox Cultural Center of the Patriarchate.
b. To strengthen the Jerusalemite Dependencies and organize visits to the Holy Land and especially the Patriarchate, in order to recruit new members for the Brotherhood.
c. To provide free of charge support to the ancient Patriarchate regarding the infrastructure and human resources, programs to serve academic Jerusalemite research, registration, digitalization, imprinting, excavation, preservation and restoration of the Jerusalemite monuments.
d. To support the Holy Land monks via scholarships enabling them to respond fully to the demands of their duties (diakonia).
e. To look after, via free of charge programs, the infrastructure of the monasteries regarding the building construction, completion, maintenance and technical aspects including the water and electricity supply, the safety and security insurance etc.
f. To provide free of charge programs that help the Patriarchate of Jerusalem to comply with its responsibilities as the spiritual overseer guardian ensuring the sacredness, the peace and the solemnity of the whole region.
g. Finally to contribute in general to the support and strengthening of the very extensive philanthropic cultural and social mission of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
III. The Organization could apply for a place in the register of the N.G.Os of the Department of the International Development Relations of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs or in any other Greek or foreign relevant Authority given its non-profit making character. Once registered it could enjoy all the legally provided privileges and also comply with all the duties and relevant regulations deriving from its N.G.O. character. The Organization will take care in ensuring the legal conditions of all its functions as well as the conditions for acquiring the necessary specialization, technical knowledge, experience and training in all the fields of its activities maintaining always its firmly undisputed N.G.O. character.
The Organization is totally unrelated to any direct or indirect connections with political parties, government organizations, business, syndicates, professional guilds, sporting clubs or training centers and it has nothing to do with any kind of Legal Authority-person that could interfere with or influence its independence.
